312 Day's Line 'Em Up youth participants.

Whether attending WNBA invite-only events at the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park, watching baseball games in Wrigelyville, golfing on Chicago’s Southside, or participating in free outdoor fitness classes throughout the area, Chicagolanders are sporting a sporty attitude this summer.

In preparation for AT&T WNBA All-Star 2026, the Chicago All-Star 2026 Host Committee is working to advance youth participation in sports with an All-Star Week VIP reception and inaugural Women’s Sports Media & Innovation Summit at the Obama Presidential Center. Through the WNBA’s Line ‘Em Up initiative, the committee aims to expand access and visibility for girls and women in basketball.

“Chicago has always delivered when the spotlight is brightest, and WNBA All-Star gives us an incredible opportunity to showcase the energy, innovation, and community that define this city,” says Nadia Rawlinson, Co-Chair of the Chicago All-Star 2026 Host Committee and Co-Owner of the Chicago Sky.

There are still tickets to see the Savannah Bananas (baseball’s answer to basketball’s Harlem Globetrotters) at Wrigley Field (July 24-26). In honor of the exhibition team’s world tour, Hotel Zachary is offering a Go Bananas! package that includes an overnight stay in a marquee suite with views of Clark and Addison; premium seating in the Maker’s Mark Barrel Room with an all-inclusive food and beverage experience; daily breakfast for two; and custom Hotel Zachary glasses.

Across the street at Gallagher Way, city dwellers can enjoy the warm weather with free outdoor fitness classes (through Oct. 2). These morning sessions include Pilates with Rise Pilates Club on Mondays; Yoga with Five Keys Yoga on Tuesdays and Thursdays; HIIT with Crosstown Fitness on Wednesdays; and Dance & Sculpt with Free Movement Shop on Fridays.

Gallagher Way also has Movement Mondays with Fizz Swing Dancing (through July 27) and Tango lessons (Sep. 7 and 21), plus a CorePower Yoga outdoor class (Sep. 7). If that’s not enough, the park hosts Beers & Bases (Sep.18), a free outdoor watch party when the Cubs play the Reds in Cincinnati.

“We think of Gallagher Way as the neighborhood’s backyard, and the summer season provides even more moments to gather and enjoy. This year’s lineup blends familiar favorites with new experiences, so no matter what you’re in the mood for, there’s something for everyone,” says Megan Cantwell, SVP of Marketing, Events and Commercial Strategy for Marquee Development.

The sessions are free but participants must bring their own yoga mats. The series concludes with a Yoga and Zumba finale (August 10) that includes a raffle with prizes from various Rosemont businesses.

Advance registration for all fitness classes is required and available at ParkwayBankPark.com.

Those looking to golf on nearly a dozen courses in Chicago’s South suburbs can enjoy Chicago Southland Disc Golf Pro Pass, a mobile passport program that highlights some of the best disc golf courses in the area.
