women candidates 2020

We won some, we lost some, we still have no idea how some will end. #Peak2020

As we said in our list of Chicago-area women candidates, too often these down-ballot races don’t get the attention they deserve, and it’s easy to overlook the impact these officeholders have on how our tax dollars are spent, how our criminal justice system operates, and our progress in the struggles for equality and equity.

In addition to the results below, we should note that the Illinois Fair Tax Amendment, which had broad support from women’s organizations statewide, was defeated.

Thank you to everyone who voted, volunteered, worked the polls, and made their voices heard.

We’ll update this list as results continue to come in.
