Aaaaaaand, we’re back!

How have you been? Y’all look great! Why, yes, we have had work done (wink) — thanks for noticing.

We’ve missed you, too!

Four years ago on this date, a feminist magazine was born. Over the next 18 months, women shared what made them Rebellious, we interviewed Meshell Ndegeocello (swoon), we reviewed movies, music, TV, gave advice, told you how to be an art collector on a budget. We had lots to say, and for 18 months we said it every month with articles, columns, essays and profiles.

And then…well…we got tired. More specifically, I got tired. And we stopped talking.

But then I got tired again.

Tired of journalism letting me down. Tired of feminism leaving me out. Tired of straight white men having all of the fun and running all of the media.

So slowly, surely, Rebellious re-emerged. A tweet here, a Facebook post there. A call for writers. Bringing on the world’s most quietly Rebellious Ad Sales Director. A bad-ass redesign by the best creative genius in Chicago.

And now here she is, Rebellious 2.0, an unwieldy and well-rested four-year-old awake from her disco nap and hell-bent on making herself heard. She’s knocking down comfort zones with a sippy cup in one hand and a copy of “We Should All be Feminists” in the other. Look how much she’s grown. And with your help, she’ll keep growing.

Welcome, everyone. It’s good to be back.

In Rebellion,
Karen
