Night 2 of the Democratic National Convention, held at the United Center in Chicago on Aug. 20, was billed as presenting “A Bold Vision for America’s Future.” Following a rousing Roll Call, attendees heard remarks from some of the biggest names in the Democratic Party including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senator Bernie Sanders, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Former President Barack Obama.
The Obamas came to the DNC with a message of hope wrapped in a mission to “Do something.” Volunteering at phone banks, discussing voting plans with neighbors, and keeping the collective foot on the gas to share enthusiasm until Vice President Kamala Harris becomes President Kamala Harris are just a few ways attendees were urged and inspired to “Do something.”

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, who will become the first-ever First Gentleman should Vice President Harris emerge victorious in the 2024 election, was also among the evenings most dynamic speakers.
“Kamala is a joyful warrior. It’s doing for her country what she has always done for the people she loves. Her passion will benefit all of us when she’s our President,” Emhoff said. “Here’s the thing about joyful warriors: they’re still warriors. And Kamala is as tough as it comes.”
Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and Ana Navarro – who served as the Night 2 host – were also among the evening’s speakers.
