While the gates have yet to open in Chicago’s Grant Park for Lollapalooza, the fun has already begun! Paris Paloma kicked-off a week’s worth of music and more with an Official Lollapalooza Aftershow – or a pre-party if you will – at Metro on July 28.
The British singer-songwriter has a new album, The Fatal Flaw, coming out this September, via Nettwerk, and singles like “Stem the Flow” and the defiant “Miyazaki” gave fans – many dressed in flowy, floral dresses and intricate corsets – a sneak peak at the tone and tenor of the highly-anticipated release. Elsewhere, older favorites including “labour” highlighted Paloma’s ethereal vocals and timeless lyricism.
Earlier in the night, Renee Christine opened the show with a collection of personal and poetic songs that were also well-received by the packed audience.
If you weren’t lucky enough to find yourself with in the hallowed halls of Metro on Tuesday night, don’t worry, you still have another opportunity to catch Paris Paloma live in Chicago. She is playing the Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage at Lollapalooza on Thursday, July 30 at 3:45 p.m.
