I’ve never been Down Under, so I can’t confirm the saying that Australians have a glow to their skin, but what I can say is that trying the Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask by Sand & Sky left a shine – in a good way – to my face.
To give you a little background, Sand & Sky was founded by Sarah and Emily Hamilton and is best known for Brilliant Skin, the botanical mask that sold more than 50,000 units within eight weeks. The hero ingredient is Australian Pink Clay. Its claim to fame is a non-drying formula that restores the skin’s natural defense shield, helping to shrink and refine pores. I have small pores on my face and didn’t really see if that made a difference, but it did give me a glow.
The 58-ml jar comes with a handy brush applicator to apply the mask evenly, and you can use it up to 12-15 times. The brush was new to me since I use my hands to apply everything on my face, so be aware that this might take a while to get the hang of.
I got representatives from Sand & Sky to answer some questions I had about the product.
Is this a product for all types of skin?
No, but it is gentle enough to be used on sensitive skin. We recommend performing a skin patch test on the inside of the elbow 48 hours prior to use on your face.
What are some of the active ingredients, and what do they do?
- The Australian Pink Clay draws out impurities, toxins and pollutants from the skin, which detoxes.
- Mangosteen and Kakadu Plum prevent free radical damage while creating a defense shield to leave skin clear and glowing.
- Old Man’s Wood and Liquorice Root remove pigmentation clusters from the skin’s surface.
- Aloe Vera and Pomegranate shrink pores and soothe after the skin is detoxified & brightened, which stimulates collagen production.
Does the mask treat acne?
Our product draws out toxins, pollutants and oils that clog the pores. It can be incorporated into any skin routine but will not cure acne alone.
How often should one use your product?
If you have oily skin to combination skin, use 2 to 3 times a week for best results. For dry or sensitive skin, use up to 2 times per week.
